About "Ozolvīle" ("OakSeam")
Latvians are among the tallest people in the world. The average height for Latvian women is 170 cm, and for men, it is 181 cm. “Ozolvīle” aims high and produces clothing for people whose height starts from the average Latvian height and upwards (even taller).
The mission of the tall clothing brand “Ozolvīle” is to carefully produce high-quality, nature-inspired clothing for tall people right here in Latvia, with patterns specifically adapted to the body proportions of tall Latvians.
The values of the “Ozolvīle” brand are to celebrate their Latvian heritage, to feel comfortable and free, to create high-quality and sustainable clothing in small collections, and to use high-quality certified materials made from natural fibers.
About me
I am somewhat of a nature child, coming from the heart of Kurland. From a countryside home surrounded by meadows, forests, freedom, and peace. Although I have lived in Riga since 2009, I still draw the greatest inspiration, energy, and peace of mind from nature. I am extremely inspired and enchanted by the colors created by nature and their various shades. I marvel at the abundance of colors around us every day and every season. Latvian nature is unique, and we can be proud that we have four seasons, each with its own unique and captivating color tones.
I am proud not only to live in the unique nature of Latvia but also of my 176 cm tall height. I like my tall and slender stature, but it has always come with one big problem - the lack of clothing that fits my body proportions and is comfortable. The range of clothing offered in stores is very wide, but finding clothes that feel truly comfortable is a difficult mission. If the clothes are narrow, they are short. If the clothes are long, they are wide. While short pants might be a fashion statement for others, for me, it has always been an eternal problem.
I am an active person who enjoys sports activities both indoors and outdoors in nature. Also, since childhood, I have liked creating clothes. At first, my models were dolls, and a little later, I started creating and adjusting clothes for myself. During my university years, when I studied material technology and clothing design, I began creating clothes for others as well. I have always been fascinated by the ability to imagine, understand, and be able to make a finished, wearable garment with my own hands. I call this my superpower.
During the time when the world was overtaken by the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns were announced, both my own and others’ dressing habits changed - there was a desire to wear more comfortable, sustainable, and versatile clothing. So, combining my passion for creating clothes, the academic and practical knowledge I gained, the beauty of Latvian nature, an active lifestyle, and the eternal problem of finding suitable clothing for my tall, slender figure, the idea to start producing my own leisurewear line was born. The idea was planted, and after many, many months of hard work, the tall clothing brand “Ozolvīle” grew.
